Installation and Setup

The Tenant File comes with standard property management account categories (such as 'Rent Received' or 'Repairs and Maintenance') already set up. You are able to change them or add your own, but before you do, you should read all of the documentation thoroughly and be familiar with the Tenant File.

 

Also, you'll get information on the 'default' account categories. Simply put, these are the same account categories mentioned above, but you will choose which ones are commonly used for what actions. For example, every time your charge rent, you will want to choose an account category such as 'Rent Charged'. Again, these are probably set correctly, so don't make any changes unless you are already familar with the program.
